Learning and Support: Five events and initiatives at BIMM Dublin this year
My name’s Chiara and I am the Learning Support Coordinator at BIMM Institute Dublin. I wanted to introduce myself and let you know about our new events and initiatives that we have in place for this year and are really keen to share with you!
Sensory Kits; Sensory kits are available at both Info Hubs, and allow students to turn any room into a sensory room.
ADHD Time Management Working Group; Students are invited to bring their work and use this 1-hour session to plan, study, check in or set goals. Suitable for students who have ADHD or who think they may have ADHD. Takes place once a month.
Dyslexia Working Group; Structured academic support group for students who have Dyslexia or who think they may have Dyslexia. Runs fortnightly.
Neurodiverse Study Sessions; We are running several study sessions to help students make the most out of their assessments in a smaller, low distraction venue. Students are encouraged to bring their work along and use this dedicated time to focus. We have study planners to hand which can be a useful tool for students to layout their study schedule over the coming weeks and a member of the Wellbeing Team will be on hand for extra support.
Campus Tour Video; Together with the Admissions and Building and Tech teams, we have created a video tour of both buildings which highlights our accessible points along with our updated pod and sensory kits.
